Vote for Lewes
Lewes has been nominated by Country Life as one of Britain’s 15 best market towns. Celebrity judges, including Noel Edmonds, bizarrely, will now judge the best market town in England, from a selection that also includes Faversham (Kent) and Hexham (Northumberland).

Election results in Sussex
Norman Baker has held his Liberal Democrat seat in Lewes, while all Brighton & Hove constituencies have stayed Labour, despite a strong Green showing in Brighton Pavilion and a close race against the Conservatives in Hove.
Green trips on the Sussex coast
The Hiker Biker Bus has returned. The bus, which provides transport along the coast road for bicycles and walkers, is starting its summer Sunday runs again. It runs from Seaford to Eastbourne via Exceat and passes near Alfriston and Birling Gap. Link: County Council press release.
